To take the lead in organizing and facilitation of all major events (conferences,cocktails, breakfast meetings, workshops, etc.) that involves the Diaspora that will promote our Kenyan culture and togetherness



Offer consultation services for Kenyans in Malaysia. These also provide the diaspora with a platform to discuss skills for employability, entrepreneurial skills and investment opportunities in Kenya/Malaysia.

Fiona Kirubi

Chair Lady & Chief Strategist

Fiona (Farha) Kirubi is a managing partner at Awal Consulting and an International finance practitioner. She has vast experience in advising on asset management, insurance, strategic planning, business development and marketing in the GCC, Europe and Africa. With a global academic background from Harvard, Richmond, The American International University in London, the American University in Dubai and INCEIF in Malaysia, Fiona has developed into an Islamic finance and Halal economy specialist.

She initiates, organises and contributes to global events on Islamic finance and best Halal practices, including the first International Islamic finance conference (IIFCAi) in January of 2016 which had great traction and success and was attending by delegates from the African continent, GCC, Malaysia Europe and the US. She is also very passionate about impact investments, education and community development and empowerment and currently sits on the board of 2 charity foundations in Kenya.


Lilian Ndinda

Assistant Chair Lady

Lillian is a devoted mother, wife and former international freight forwarder with 15 years’ experience. Upon arriving in Malaysia, she saw an opportunity to be part of a group that will bring together the Kenyan diaspora fraternity in Malaysia.

Her expectation for the Diaspora group is to have forums/conferences and workshops to discuss our socio- economic challenges and how to mitigate them for students, athletes and experts.


Eric Kimathi

Expatriates Representative

Eric Kimathi Buantai came to Malaysia 12 years ago, he did his Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and life sciences in University Selangor (UNISEL), then proceeded for Masters at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences UPM.

Currently Eric is the Director of International office in University Selangor (UNISEL) which is a state fully owned University by the richest state in Malaysia which is Selangor. Eric has been involved with various activities to promote and Market Malaysia since the time he landed in Malaysia.


Ram Ayall


Ram came to Malaysia in 2008 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing from Asia Pacific University (APU). He is currently a Software Developer at dJava Factory.

Having worked in Malaysia for over 4 years, Ram will utilize the knowledge and information technology experience gained to drive some of Kenlaysia’s strategic initiatives in Malaysia.


Joseph Chweya


Joseph Chweya has vast experience in customer service. Having been involved in customer service in the palm oil industry and telecommunications in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines over the past 4 years. He is currently a Payment Associate at SCICOM ( Msc Berhad) . He has also been involved in project management, recruitment and planning.

He will provide transparency in managing the groups financial affairs in an integral manner, so as to create and foster accountability in this role. Through this he hopes to see the success of this group by creating a platform for Kenyans to come together, interact, share ideas and create opportunities.
